Once again I am very late to update the website but bellow are all the news and what happened to us recently which will explain everything.

After the birth of our 2 first babies; Kenelm Kingstorm ( Sandstorm JC x Khaptivating Lady ) and Kenelm Evening Dream ( Sandstorm JC x MSA Evening Song ) that is our beloved Raves and Roses who foaled on April 10th the bay filly we were waiting out of her for years !

That little beauty is named Kenelm Desert Roses. She is just perfect and shows great promises here she is :

Desert Roses is a true light in the barn and we have great hopes for her, she should be for sale as we always sell our very best.

I was far to imagine after the 3 first perfect deliveries that the next one will be a real nightmare.

Everyone who knows us know my mare Loïs who is the queen of the farm as she is my very first Arabian ever; she does have a special place in my heart. I bred her last year to Kenelm Elazri as she crossed very well in the past with the Balaton line the most famous result being Kenelm Lucky Star, halter winner in France and multiple champion in reining in USA, so that breeding meant a lot to me for different reasons.

After waiting for the foaling for 5 nights Lois was very strange during the last one, I called the vet on the morning to have her examined. That was Sunday 11th of May. And we had to induce the foaling, during palpation the vet found the foal was very poorly animated and very badly placed, it took 3 persons to put the foal out , he was on his back and HUGE. After around 40 minutes of labor for both my mare and the vet team we put on the ground a very typey and ultra tall grey colt with the most beautiful look possible.

When taking cares of Lois a few hours after as she retained the afterbirth we found a big bloody wound in her uterus certainly caused by the bad position of the foal and the hard foaling. Lois was treated immediately with hemoced and antibiotics. That hard foaling is unfortunately the end of Lois reproductive career I can’t take the risk to breed her again with that damaged uterus and to risk the rupture during an upcoming foaling. I was just devastated for my mare as I know she was in pain and prayed for her to go through that difficulty without anymore problem. She did it and is now in good health while quite thin and not very energic, time will help for that.

Concerning the baby it is another tragedy. I named him Kenelm Llewelynn and that name fit to him very well.

He was OK on the first day but at 11 pm shown first sign of septicaemia. We diagnosed it very quickly. First blood tests shown a very low immune system as he certainly did not get a good colostrum, but the most valuable reason is that he was infected in utero.

My vet came on the night and did the first treatment of a battle who will end 4 days later. But on the morning of the 13th we were over the moon when Llewelynn stood up alone and nursed, we cried as it was so emotional and we thought we won the war…..he was also improving on the 14th . But on the morning of the 15th he shown difficulties to breath and was very tired. We all thought the septicaemia was back and attacked again.

On the evening he was even more tired and had more and more difficulties to breath ( the vet came 3 times this day ) and on the evening I had taken the decision to stop the pain for him but also for me and my mare as I just could not manage to see him like this anymore. I knew his time was coming.

My vet came again and we wanted to try something a last time….a last chance. But at this moment we saw blue coloring on his mouth  and we decided to stop everything, it was the final sign we were so scary to see. My vet was going to inject the syringe to put him to sleep but he was already dead, here in my arms, letting me so lonely as well as his dam who was looking for that little baby who was such a fighter.

My little Llewelynn tried to fight against something we could not change: destiny.
The autopsy shown a big piece of aggregated blood in his right heart, which explained the difficulty to breath and the final heart attack. That is one of the most frequent consequences of the septicaemia.

We can say we tried ALL , for 4 nights and 5 days.

At this occasion I would like to thank Dr François Valon who is our vet since the beginning of Kenelm Arabians and to Dr Isabelle Gervais who works with him since last year. They both did a fabulous job trying to save Llewelynn. I want also to thank all my staff for the long hours of cares of Llewelynn, and also to my wonderful family who did so much, far more that I can express,
and tried to help me to stop crying when he left us.

Rest in peace my love and be sure no one will ever forget you here, you’ll stay forever in my heart and I hope you’re running free and happy in the Heaven’s pastures with all our lost friends.

The Loïs dynasty will lives on however, first with her multiple champion son Kenelm Lucky Star now in USA and who follows is fabulous showing career there and at Kenelm Arabians with Kenelm Psyara, sired by Psymadré, Psyara is carrying the very first Perlaan el Javier baby for 2009.

Kenelm Psyara

Loïs dynasty will be also cared with Mrs Muriel Carné, proud owner of Kenelm Liberty, 2006 daughter of Loïs sired by Sandstorm. I can only thank Muriel for her kind words also when Llewelynn left us and for the fabulous work she is doing with “Lily “ , hoping she will follow the footsteps of Hassan the other horse of Muriel , maternal brother of Loïs and multiple endurance winner !

Muriel and Liberty in “kissing moment”!

Then Loïs last foal, Kenelm Louskor, born in 2007, also by Sandstorm is developing very well at Clementine Arabians, France. Thanks also to Sophie for her friendship in that difficult time.

Kenelm Louksor

Life being very strange after the passing of Llewelynn another Angel was due to be sent to me, maybe to help us to go through that horrible moment.

My Menes daughter Anastacia AA foaled on the Saturday 17th May the most perfect bay colt , also by Elazri. This is her 10th baby! I am so proud of that fabulous broodmare, so here is Kenelm Arkangel, aged of 2 days :

The loss of Llewelynn is still difficult to accept but with the arrival of Arkangel that’s a new hope which arrives. He’s pure perfection with the most extreme head and huge eyes and adorable disposition but above all he’s in good health and believe me, nothing is more important.

Arkangel is destined for greatness for sure as most of the offspring of Anastacia, her 2007 colt Kenelm Angkor is still available and if you want a moving machine with type and disposition look no further !

Another Kenelm bred offspring of Anastacia made us very proud recently this is Kenelm Angelina, sired by AS Natsir Apal she is the very first Arabian I bred.

Shown for the very first time this year at 7 years of age Angie as I named her won her class and the senior female championship at the Arabica Show in Francfurt for her owner Brigitte Sprave of Sprave Arabians! Congrats to everyone involved !

Here are some pics of her , no need to say I am very proud ( copyrights Aline Sagrabelny ) !

Kenelm Angelina, champion mare in Francfurt !

Angelina and many others are the proof we always sell our very best offspring each year, come to visit us and maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for. A horse for show and breeding but above all a horse to love as my horses are family members and I take the best care possible of each of them trying each time to find the best “match” between new owner and horse.

It is always a very happy moment for me to have news of my homebred in their new homes !

Our friend Esther Besselink from Nafiesa Arabians is the proud owner of Kenelm Mona Ghalia born in 2002 and sired by the giant Monogramm. Mona just foaled for Esther the most perfect filly by Ajman Moniscionne. Here are some pics of Nafiesa Malaika

Esther did bred also her other mare TA Annug to Sandstorm last year and she had a wonderful grey colt named Nafiesa Eschimier. Esther says he has the most fabulous character, which is not a surprise as Sandy always gives adorable foals! Here he is :

We also had news from Kenelm Ibn Samsara , sired by Padrons Immage and out of Shamilah Samsara, now owned by my friend Sophie from Clementine Arabians, Sam is now the riding horse of her daughter Clemence, it seems it is a super team and we wish them a lot of pleasure together in the years to come. Sam was special to me from birth and I’m happy he does have now a home for life.

Kenelm Ibn Samsara and Clémence

Congratulations also to all our other clients who bought a breeding from us last year and got special babies this year, foals are the essence of our work, they are so precious, we post pictures as soon as they arrive !

Some horses have found new homes too.

Our super producer Khaptivating Lady by Sanadik el Shaklan , back in foal to Sandstorm for 2009 is sold to Sophie from Clementine Arabians

Her 2008 colt Kenelm Kingstorm has stole the heart of Fabrice and his family in the east part of France. Fabrice and his daughter Nelly are already the proud owners of Kenelm Adriana Jamaal ; for sure Kingstorm is a royal choice for a future stallion!

Kenelm Morgane, 2007 grey filly sired by Kenelm Elazri and out of Kenelm Madison is leaving soon for her new home with Karine, that will be her first Arabian and we are sure it will be a long love story !

Thank you to all for your confidence !

The breeding season is still on , several mares are in foal for 2009 and we are very excited with the upcoming results. Of course the recent story makes me a little bit anxious but usually all goes very well and I hope to produce some healthy babies who will bring joy and happiness in my life and those of their future owners.

What a busy period ! we are sorry for not updating more regularly but we are now in the busiest moment of the year, between foalings and breedings!

First of all on the 1st of March we celebrated the 19th Sandstorm’s birthday! Our old boy is still looking like a teenager and each of his babies is a fabulous proof of his breeding abilities.

We just wish to have him by our side for many years and to be able to breed some more sweeties as he knows to produce.

As a gift for his birthday one of Sandstorm’s favorite ( and ours! ) foaled on the early morning of the 1st of March !

She produced for us the most amazing grey colt possible. He reminds me a lot another Sandstorm filly I bred in 2006 Kenelm Liberty, same markings and same incredible movement! Seems that Sandy wanted to put some “new look” on Lady’s foals as the first 3 others from that cross are all bays without blaze ! This one is so special , sweet and showy, he shows so much great promises I have named him Kenelm Kingstorm ! and yes he thinks he’s the king ! Below are some pics of him: but the best is to see him in the flesh as he is just a little moving machine with fabulous animation.

Then on the 7th of March , at 6:30 pm this is the beautiful MSA Evening Song who foaled a spectacular grey filly also by Sandstorm. She’s named Kenelm Evening Dream and she looks like a doll. Full of presence and charisma she thinks she owns the world.

Here are some shots of her :

No need to say we are over the moon with those babies.

Next one due is Raves and Roses around mid of April and then our two last are Lois and Anastacia both in foal to Elazri for the end of May.

We have started the breeding season and already looking forward 2009 ! we will have 2 very nice surprises but will say more in a little bit of time!

The mare Kar Zanonia is straight Spanish , she is bred by famous stud of Nicolas Jung in Germany and is double El Perfecto we believe that cross with Perlaan should be wonderful. Zanonia is owned by Janine and Philippe Guinard from Germany and we thank them very much for leasing us their beloved mare for a 2009 foal.

Zanonia is a chestnut moving machine, who is perfectly ridden and is a joy to be ridden, she’s a 6 years old and that will be her first baby; we can’t wait !

Kenelm Arabians wishes you the very best for the upcoming new year ! May it bring you joy, happiness and success!

Looking back at 2007 we can remind a lot of very good memories. That year has been very consistent and very important for us here at the farm.

First of all I would like to thank all my friends and clients and particularly Mrs Sophie Aligne of Clementine Arabians, France. Sophie came to our farm in March 2007 for the first time and since we are very close friends. She is going to establish a very nice breeding program here in France and we feel honoured that she chose us for buying her first foundation stock and helping her sometimes to find top breeding horses worldwide. Thank you Sophie for your support and friendship and we wish you all the very best for the years to come and wait for the impact you’ll have soon in both the show rings and breeding sheds.

You can visit Sophie’s at www.clementinearabians.com

2007 has been a year full of successes too with the 2 Sandstorm’s offspring BS Specific ( x Basara Saiyana ) and Kenelm Kinshasa ( x Khaptivating Lady )

Specific is owned by Mrs Jennifer Dhombre from Kalliste Arabians in France. This year he won the National Champion Stallion of France award and is the 2007 European Champion Stallion, he ended very beautifully in Paris being second in his class and 3rd at the final championship. Congrats to him and his owners and of course his breeders the Blutbacher family from Germany.

Congrats also to Kinshasa who was shown in Paris but did not ended in the Top Ten. However her first international season is more than promising and she is planned to come back to the show ring in the future. Kinshasa is owned by Clementine Arabians

A big congrats too to Equus Arabians, Spain , Mr Albert Sorroca for the very nice results he got in 2007 with Shamilah Jina Bea ( Warandes Plakat x Julia bea by Ponomarev ) that he bought from us. Jina was very well placed at several shows in Spain this year including a reserve senior championship and a second place at the Spanish national championship! well done ! Hope to hear more successes soon.

Also a lot of congratulations to the Mc Gregor family for the results they achieved in 2006 and 2007 with Kenelm Lucky Star ( Narym x Loïs ). We are so sorry and devastated by the death of their son Luc in last September. May Lucky bring some light in your lives in the future.

2008 seems to be a good year also for showing.

Kenelm Antares ( Padrons Immage x Kenelm Angelina by AS Natsir Apal ) born in 2005 and owned by Sophie should be shown at the international level.

Brigitte Sprave in Germany from Sprave Arabians told us that certainly Kenelm Angelina ( AS Natsir Apal x Anastacia AA by Menes ) will go to the shows too , that would make 2 generations of Kenelm breds in the rings !

We can’t wait.

Kenelm Psychic Rave ( Padrons Immage x Raves and Roses by Rave VF ) was planned also to start his show career this year so we stay tuned on his owner’s news

We of course wish them all a lot of good results in advance !

Kenelm Mahory ( Sandstorm JC x Ra Marhaba ) is planned to enter the dressage competitions next year. He will be 4 . This handsome bay gelding is the best friend of his proud owner Yves. Good luck to them !

Kenelm Mona Ghalia ( Monogramm x DSA Ghalia ) is in foal to Ajman Monoscione, we wish Esther Besselink and all the staff of Nafiesa Arabians, Netherlands the very best for a beautiful foal to come ! also for their other mare TA Annug by BS Diabolo who’s in foal to Sandstorm !

Thanks also to all our other clients who bred their mares to Sandstorm in Europe and beyond, we wish you all some super Sandys !

And of course a big thanks to all who bought a horse or a breeding from us this last year.

2007 allowed us to introduce new girls in our breeding program. Both came from La Movida Arabians in Austria

Here is Alika el Than ( Jonathan el Ludjin x LM Alisha by CWP Chances Are ) . Alika is double Ali Jamaal, double Bey Shah and brings to the farm the precious blood of CWP Chances Are the stunning grey son of Bey Shah ! Alika is everything you can dream about an Arabian, super typey, fabulous neck, extra head , incredible animation, she moves for 22/20 and she has the sweetest temperament ! Alika is destined to become one of our most important mares in the future. Her dam line also traces to AN Malik so she does have that precious Spanish connection I like so much .

Second one is Scalina el Javier ( Javier el Jamaal x Scala el Jamaal by Ali Jamaal ) triple Ali Jamaal but also the blood of Dalul and Bask ! Scali is my personnal gift to my mother for celebrating the end of her cancer . As most of you know it was a very difficult time for us and we are more than happy to go through that terrible illness with success. Scalina is a rich dark bay filly with that famous Ali Jamaal and a real clown disposition! She’s a fun girl who does have a special way of life.

Alika el Than, the moving machine !

Scalina el Javier, the clown !

In Memory of Luke MacGregor: 1978-2007

It is with a very heavy heart that we report the tragic death of Luke MacGregor on the September 28, 2007. Luke was 29 years old and the rider and trainer - but above all, best friend - of our homebred Kenelm Lucky Star (Narym x Loïs by Fiodor).

This news has devastated everyone here, as we knew Luke to be a wonderful individual and devoted horseman. We extend our deepest sympathies to his parents - our friends Dan and Ann MacGregor of Kuna, Idaho, U.S.A. He was far too young to leave us.

Lucky will be shown in Luke’s memory during the first round of this year’s U.S.A. Nationals on October 22nd. Luke did a superb job with Lucky during the past year. Both are pictured below at the Region 3 in Reno, Nevada where they won a Top 3 in a huge class of reiners.

Kenelm Lucky Star and Luke MacGregor Winning 2007 Region III Top 3 in Reining

We wish the MacGregor team the very best at the U.S.A. Nationals and will keep our readers apprised of all the latest results.

Well Done for Kenelm Kinshasa by Sandstorm JC!

The homebred filly Kenelm Kinshasa (Sandstorm JC x Khaptivating Lady by Sanadik el Shaklan) did it again!

She placed an impressive 2nd place at the prestigious International A Show in Towerlands, England, just behind the majestic junior champion Layan al Khalediah. We wish Kinshasa, owner Sophie Aligne and trainers Tom and Glenn Schoukens all the best this season. Congratulations to all of you!
